26 June – After Dark at the 2 oceans aquarium
On 26 June, After Dark will showcase post-punkers Dangerfields, supported by alt-pop band Twin Weaver. Performing stripped-down acoustics sets, these musicians will make the most of the unusual setting.
The viewing area in front of the I&J Ocean Exhibit will be transformed into a cozy, living room-style stage. Upgrade your ticket for an extra R245 you can get a year’s unlimited access to the Two Oceans Aquarium (normal rate for an annual adult membership is R430)!

A Very High Tea
has recently launched the ultimate high tea experience. Hosted in the Wi-Fi Lounge with access of course to free Wi-Fi and spectacular panoramic views of our beautiful city and ocean. This unique high tea is a modern take on the British traditional affair and provides both sweet and savoury options. The minimum amount of people is 2, and the maximum amount allowed for the high tea, 20 people. R325 per person with a discounted return cable car ticket for only R175 extra when you book your high tea. These discounted return tickets are available until Sunday 30 June 2019. We’re always looking at ways to spice up our food offerings at the Cableway Wi-Fi Lounge, and this time, it’s the Very High Tea getting a new look, taste, time slot, and a package deal! Available each Thursday between 14h00 and 16h00 at our awesome WiFi Lounge. Visitors with a sense of adventure, and a sweet-tooth, can get a combo Cableway ticket and Very High Tea access package for just R455, directly from our Ticket Office onsite.
The Very High Tea includes tasty spoils like Smoked Beef Carpaccio and Red Currant Jelly, Ostrich Crostini, Milk Tart Cigars, Peanut Butter Cheesecake, teas and coffees and a glass of MCC on arrival.

Cableway Annual Maintenance Reminder
Attention Cableway visitors: The Cableway is closed for annual maintenance from Monday, 8 July to Sunday, 18 August 2019.
This winter, we’ll be shutting down our operations for six weeks to do some renovating, replace the cable car ropes, and more. All of these changes will ensure an even better visitor experience for you when we re-open!
We know six weeks is a long time, so while we are busy fixing things up, here are a few things you need to know:
You can still collect and use your free birthday special ticket one week before we close and one week after we re-open. Visitors must please bring along their valid SA IDs to prove that you will be celebrating your birthday during the six-week shutdown.
You may hike up Table Mountain: Please remember that the cable cars and all of our facilities, including our restrooms, eateries and shops will not be open during our annual maintenance period. Please hike with a registered guide and follow these safety guidelines.
You can still feast your eyes on what’s on offer at the Cableway: By subscribing to our social media channels and checking out what to expect on your next visit, our specials for locals with valid SA IDs, our responsible tourism projects and more.

Daily Free Guided Garden Walks
Monday – Friday – Leaving from Gate 1 (Visitors Centre). 90 minute walks at 10h00, 11h00 and 14h00.
Leaving from Gate 2 (Garden Centre): 90 minute walks at 10h45.
Saturday – Leaving from Gate 1 (Visitors Centre): 90 minute walks at 10h00.
Leaving from Gate 2 (Garden Centre): 90 minute walks at 10h45.
Private Guided Tours can be booked ahead at an extra R70.00 per person (minimum fee of R520.00 or 8 people required for a tour to take place).
Golf Cart Tours of the garden are on offer from 09h00 to 15h00 every weekday @ R80.00 per person (max 7 passengers).

Cape Point
1 June – 31 July – Flying Dutchman Funicular, kids special
Head to Cape Point between the 1st of June 2019 and the 31st of July 2019 where two kids (aged 6 -16) ride for FREE on the Flying Dutchman Funicular, when an adult return ticket is bought for R80. The funicular is the only one of its type in Africa and takes its name from the local legend of the Flying Dutchman ghost ship. Hop in for a ride which will take you all the way to the top station, whilst enjoying the amazing Cape Point views. Once you’ve built up an appetite, head on down to the Two Oceans Restaurant. Kids receive a FREE dessert with every sit-down adult main meal ordered for kids 12 years and younger. Simply advise your waiter you’d like to claim the kids winter special – it’s that simple!

Explore South Africa’s political past with an informative tour at the maximum security prison. But Robben Island isn’t just about the political past of our country, keep an eye out for the African penguins that are on the island.
The ferry ride to Robben Island is an adventure in itself, enjoy spectacular views of Table Mountain from the upper deck of the ferry if you are lucky, you may even spot some dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves.
Tour the Robben Island surrounds in a guided bus tour and view the Robben Island 19th-century Lighthouse; the only lighthouse in South Africa to use a flashing light instead of a revolving light.
A former Robben Island inmate will guide you while on the island, and you’ll receive unparalleled insight into the significant role that each of the Robben Island’s inmates collectively played throughout apartheid. You will be guided to the maximum security prison, various Robben Island exhibition displays and a visit to Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.
