The global launch of the Cape Town Monopoly board game took place at the V&A Waterfront’s Clock Tower Square today. And the exciting news is that each of the Cape Town Big 6 occupies a proud position on the official game board.

A set of giant dice rolled onto the playing surface to start the first official game of Monopoly Cape Town, with life-size pieces moving around an impressive 10m x 10m board.

The Cape Town Big 6 is extremely proud to be part of this initiative, and to act as a gateway to the wide range of sights and activities available in Cape Town.

According to Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana, CEO of the Cape Town Partnership, “An iconic board game like Monopoly presents a long-term opportunity for us to show off the 7 things you must do if you live in or visit Cape Town. But our attractions are merely a gateway to the rest of the Cape Town experience. The Monopoly Cape Town board promotes the variety of things to do in Cape Town and will motivate visitors to spend more time here and to visit regularly.”

Mr Monopoly has spent the last week exploring each of the Cape Town Big 6 attractions, and social media has been abuzz with the sightings.

The 7 iconic Cape Town attractions will feature alongside other prominent features and landmarks in the city, including the Two Oceans Aquarium, Newlands Cricket Ground, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape Town International Airport, Camps Bay, and Simon’s Town.
