Robben Island Museum in partnership with the Department of Home Affairs will be hosting mass weddings on the 14th February 2016. An Island known for its history of incarceration hosts mass weddings annually on the 14th day of February, a day well-known as a Valentine’s Day. To date the island is seen as a symbol of hope.
This year 2016, 16 couples around the globe are granted an opportunity to celebrate their love and tie the knot on the Island. The Minister of Home Affairs, Honourable Malusi Gigaba and RIM Acting CEO Mr. Mava Dada will be among the dignitaries attending the ceremony.
