An African sunset from the top of one of the world’s New7Wonders of Nature is a truly spectacular sight. The Table Mountain Sunset Special has returned, and locals can enjoy this experience at half-price!
From 1 November to 19 December 2018, and from 3 January until 28 February 2019 return tickets are half price after 6 pm.
This excludes the following dates: 20 December 2018 – 2 January 2019.
Tickets will be available for purchase online and from the Ticket Office from 1 November 2018.
Please note that it is not advisable to use our free park-and-ride MyCiTi bus service for the Sunset Special as the service runs until 7 pm only.
Sunset Special Deals:
This special is available to South Africans with valid SA IDs only.
Adults pay half price at R145.00 per ticket
Children pay half price at R72.50 per ticket
Tickets are available for purchase online and from the Ticket Office at the Lower Cableway Station, all day but may only be used from 6 pm on the day of your visit.
When purchasing Sunset Special tickets online the buyer needs to enter his/her ID number and the ID numbers of the people that s/he is buying tickets for. The same rule applies at the Ticket Office.
Sunset Special tickets for children do not require an ID number.
Top Tips before you go:
Check on the weather: by visiting the Table Mountain homepage, calling their weather line at +27(0)21 424 8181 or sending an email to info@tablemountain.net. The operations are weather dependent and they will close due to gale force winds for your safety.
– Dress warmly: because it gets super chilly at the summit of Table Mountain when the sun goes down so please do bring along something warm to wear. Forgot your jacket? That’s cool – they have some excellent warm clothing options for sale at the Shop at the Top.
– Satisfy your hunger pangs: by visiting one of their delicious eateries, the Table Mountain Cafe and Cableway WiFi Lounge before sunset. For their operating hours, please click here.
– Book your ride: using the free MyCiTi park and ride shuttle which runs until 7pm only. This also means you either have to book an Uber or a metro cab for your journey home.
