A spectacular photograph of star trails above Table Mountain has won an international award. Cape Town photographer Eric Nathan won the 2015 edition of the International Earth and Sky Photo Contest with his photograph snapped from Lion’s Head, adjacent to the New7Wonders of Nature landmark, Table Mountain.

According to Nathan, “The image juxtaposes a moonlit Table Mountain and the star trails above it with the artificial lights of Cape Town.” He took over 900 photographs at 30-second exposures, and combined them to make the breathtaking view of this world famous Cape Town Big 6 member.
