Pensioner Savings: Pensioners have the opportunity to delve into the rich history and heritage of Robben Island at a reduced rate of R250 per person on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Tour Guide Special: Accredited tour guides can explore the island at a special concession fee of R250 per tour. It’s an ideal chance to enhance your knowledge and share the island’s tales with visitors from around the globe.
Group Concessions For NGOs, Religious and Educational Entities: February and March bring even more excitement with special concessions for NGOs, religious groups, and educational entities. Planning a group outing? Ensure your request is sent in writing at least four working days in advance to secure your spot.
Booking Details: While concessions and birthday tickets can be purchased over the counter at the Robben Island Museum Ticket sales office, pre-booking is advisable due to limited availability on daily tours. South African NGOs, religious groups, and educational entities must make written bookings at least 4 working days in advance by emailing Concessionbookings@robben-island.org.za.
A signed written request on an official letterhead from a school/religious group/NGO must include, among others, the following:
- Proposed date of visit.
- Name of person or group initiating the visit.
- Number of people in the group.
- Contact information (name, title, phone number, and address).
Standard Tours: Robben Island Museum offers four standard tours daily (09h00, 11h00, 13h00 and 15h00), priced at R400 for South African adults and R210 for children under 18. For international visitors, the rates are R600 per adult and R310 per child. During the concession period (February-March), South Africans receive further discounted rates of R250 per adult and R130 per child.
