Groot Constantia has temporarily shut down the production cellar for a crucial upgrade from 1 August to 31 October 2024. During this time:

  • All Visitors Route and Cellar Tours will be on hold.
  • Museum access and wine tastings in the Cloete Cellar, as well as at the Wine & Gift Shop, will remain open.
  • The Cloete Cellar will be accessible from 10:00 to 17:00, providing indoor and outdoor seating options.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden: Nature’s Wonderland

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is a must-visit for anyone who loves nature. This world-renowned garden is home to a vast collection of indigenous flora, providing a serene and educational experience. Take a walk through the garden’s various themed areas, like the….. or simply relax and enjoy the natural beauty. There are several dining options within the garden, including Vida e Cafe, Moyo Restaurant, and Kirstenbosch Tea Room, where you can enjoy a meal surrounded by lush greenery. Guided Tour Need To Knows:

  • Complimentary guided tours depart from Gate I (Visitors’ Centre) at 10:00 and 14:00 from Monday to Friday.
  • To explore the natural forest and fynbos at Kirstenbosch on your own, find the Walks and Trails map from the Ticket Office.
  • All visitor facilities are wheelchair-accessible, but not all Garden areas are suitable for wheelchairs.

Table Mountain Cableway: A View From The Top

Although the Table Mountain Cableway is closed for maintenance, it’s still worth mentioning for future visits. The Cableway offers unparalleled views of Cape Town and its surroundings, making it a must-do experience once it reopens. Until then, consider exploring the lower hiking trails or simply enjoy the area’s natural beauty from a different perspective. When the cableway resumes operations on 1 September 2024, it will once again provide an unforgettable way to take in the splendour of Mother City from above. South Africans whose birthdays fall between 15 July and 2 September 2024 can claim their birthday tickets in September 2024. Remember to bring your valid SA ID document, driver’s license, or birth certificate (with an SA ID number) to confirm that you celebrated your birthday during the seven-week shutdown.

Robben Island Museum: A Journey Through History
