The New Year’s Eve concert on 31 December 2022, in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, promises to be a magnetic celebration as you one, two-step your way into 2023 with Mi Casa and Swing City.
The soulful dance trio Mi Casa will be headlining the New Year’s Eve concert. Since 2010 the group has dominated African and South African music charts with eight number-one singles, including the popular hits ‘Jika’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend’.
The trio are no strangers to this stage and are geared up to bring another unforgettable show. The five-time South African Music Awards (SAMA) winners hold the titles of “Best Duo Group”, “Best Dance Group”, and the coveted “Record of the year”. Make sure to start 2023 on the right note with the deep soulful vocals, horns and keys of the legendary Mi Casa.

Established by three of South Africa’s most loved artists, Nathan Ro, Graeme Watkins, and Loyiso Bala, the group will share their love of swing music with concertgoers. Start 2023 off on a high note with a vibrant performance by the Queen of Afro Jazz, Judith Sephuma, on 1 January 2023. The multi-award-winning artist and acclaimed singer will take the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts stage to delight her fans with the rhythmical jazz flows they adore.
Her album, Power of Dreams, was released in 2019 and provides her music lovers solace and an enchanting experience through the mesmeric artistry of her songs, which allows her listeners to get a closer perspective of her world through the power of dreams.
Over the last two decades, Sephuma has shared the stage with international artists like Bebe Winans, Oletta Adams, Jonathan Buttler, Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford and Chaka Khan. Her collaboration with Michael Bolton, singing an old classic “Over the Rainbow” and another with Kenny G on the triple platinum seller “A cry, A smile, A dance” crowns Judith Sephuma as the best singer, and performer South Africa has produced. Enjoy an afternoon listening to world-class musical performances on the slopes of Table Mountain.
