Lady Cynthia Tait Art Exhibition
This February Kirstenbosch’s Richard Crowie Hall is hosting an exhibition of botanical artwork by renowned artist Lady Cynthia Tait and members of the Botanical Artists Association of Southern Africa daily from 9h00 to 18h00. Entry is free to the exhibit but garden entry fees apply.

Wednesday Talks 
This February Kirstenbosch will host two insightful talks for free at the Old Mutual Conference Centre at Gate One. Each talk has a unique theme and a different speaker. This February Kirstenbosch will host BBC award-winning gardener, Edwin Rye on 5 February as well as shark, elephant and wildlife conservationist Richard Pierce on 19 February. The talks are held from 10h30 to 11h30 and please note that garden entry prices apply.

Table Mountain Cableway

Habitat for Humanity Cyclathon 
From 7 to 8 February join Habitat for Humanity for a 25-hour cyclathon at the V&A Amphitheatre. The Habitat for Humanity Cyclathon is a student-run fundraiser to help build formal housing for the underprivileged. There will be live entertainment as well as raffle tickets and cycling slots on sale to supporters at R20.

South Africa Menswear Week (SAMW) Lights, camera, action! On Saturday 8 February, Quay 7 will host a full day of mens fashion at the V&A Waterfront. CANSA Shavathon
From 09h00 to 16h30 on 29 February, CANSA will host the 17th national shavathon at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. The theme ‘Hope 2020’ is apt, as participants will be giving hope to cancer survivors and loved ones, by showing solidarity with them in the fight against cancer as they stencil, spray or shave their hair.

Robben Island

Every year on Valentine’s Day ❤️ a large group of betrothed couples venture to Robben Island and exchange vows in a mass ceremony on this historic and beautiful island.

All visitors to the island can explore South Africa’s political past with an informative tour at the maximum-security prison. But Robben Island isn’t just about the political past of our country, keep an eye out for the African penguins that are on the island.

The ferry ride to Robben Island is an adventure in itself. Visitors can expect spectacular views of Table Mountain from the upper deck of the ferry and may even spot some dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves.

Tour the Robben Island surrounds in a guided bus tour to view the Robben Island shipwrecks, 19th-century Lighthouse; the only lighthouse in South Africa to use a flashing light instead of a revolving light.

A former Robben Island inmate will guide you while on the island, and provide unparalleled insight into the significant role that each of the Robben Island’s inmates collectively played throughout Apartheid. You will be guided to the maximum-security prison, various Robben Island exhibition displays and a visit to Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.
