There’s no denying it! Table Mountain is one of Cape Town’s most iconic treasures. She’s the calm giant that watches over the city, the proud Mother of the Mother City, and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Table Mountain’s New Look, Global Nods, and Sky-High Celebrations
2025 – There’s no denying it! Table Mountain is one of Cape Town’s most iconic treasures. She’s the calm giant that watches over the city, the proud Mother of the Mother City, and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

And now, she’s giving visitors yet another reason to make the trip to the top. With new photo spots, global recognition, and even the perfect place to host your year-end celebration.
A New Frame for an Old Favourite
Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has just unveiled something truly special — a brand-new New 7 Wonder of Nature yellow frame right at the summit of Table Mountain, at the balcony of Shop at the Top.
If you’ve explored Cape Town before, you might have spotted the original series of yellow frames dotted around the city. These frames were first introduced during the World Design Capital 2014 project, celebrating Table Mountain’s official title as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature back in 2011.

So, what makes this new frame so special?
Unlike the other six, which show off Table Mountain from different parts of the city, this one lets you frame Cape Town from the top of the mountain itself. Don’t forget to snap your shot and share the view — tag @tablemountainca and @ctbig6 using #TableMountain and #CapeTownBig6 to show us your mountain moment!
Table Mountain Nominated for World Travel Awards 2025
There’s even more exciting news from one of Cape Town’s favourite landmarks! This year, both Table Mountain and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway were nominated for top honours in the 2025 World Travel Awards. Voting has officially closed, and now all eyes are on the results.
The nominations were for:
World’s Leading Cable Car Ride 2025 – Table Mountain Aerial Cableway
World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2025 – Table Mountain

It’s no secret how much this iconic mountain means to Cape Town and South Africa as a whole. From the breathtaking views to the sense of pride it inspires, Table Mountain is truly one of a kind. Now, with voting wrapped up, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope to bring these awards home once again!
