You can redeem it on any day in your birthday month by collecting your ticket in person at the Lower Station ticket office. Just bring your South African ID, driver’s licence or birth certificate.

Birthday upgrade tickets aren’t available online and can only be bought at the Lower or Top Station ticket offices. If you want to skip the queues, you can upgrade to a Fast Track ticket for R550 per one-way. This offer is only available to South African citizens with an ID.
