Cape Town is an exciting place to ring in the New Year! With a wide variety of options available, there is something for everyone. Here is what you can do at the Cape Town Big 6:

Start your evening on top of Table Mountain

While the Cableway will not be open for New Year’s Eve celebrations at midnight, you can join them for a final 2018 glass of bubbly at the Terrace Bar, enjoy the last meal of the year at their self-service Table Mountain Café and upload your New Year’s Eve selfie to your social media platforms for free at the Cableway WiFi Lounge. The last car down will be at 21:30, making it the perfect way to start your New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Things to remember:

  • Our operations are weather dependent: Check what the weather is like and whether we are open or not by visiting our homepage, calling +27(0)21 424 0015 or emailing us at info@tablemountain.net
  • The last free shuttle to the Cableway is at 7pm: Please book an Uber or a meter taxi, or make alternative transport arrangements.
  • Dress warmly: It gets chilly at the summit of the mountain after sunset so please bring along a warm jacket or pop by our Shop at the Top for comfy tops.

NYE with Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts

Ring in the new year with uplifting modern folk-pop. From cult live act status in his hometown Cape Town to a chart-topping album domestically, Jeremy Loops career’s been characterised by breaking through glass ceilings. An international breakout year in 2015 saw him open for Twenty One Pilots on the road, headlining a sold-out 30,000-ticket tour of his own, and release music, most notably his single Down South, a breakthrough in major European territories and elsewhere around the world. His new album Critical As Water, led by the hit single Waves and preceding a sprawling world tour across four continents, has brought Loops ambition of taking South African music to the world further still.

Cape Town’s Crimson House will be opening the evening. They have become a festival and club favourite with their high energy interactive live performances becoming that of legends. They formed in 2010 and have since released 3 albums, with a collection of chart hitting tracks including their latest hit singles Take a Chance, Don’t forget to take your medicine, Joes Bounce and Pot of Gold of their upcoming 4th album.

Gates to the concert area open at 19h00.
Concert duration: 20h30-00h15.
