The V&A Waterfront reaffirmed its commitment to lessening the impact of plastics this Plastic-Free July. At the V&A, a dedicated team of more than 90 people collect, handle and sort all the waste on the property.

Augmented Reality (AR) just brought an exciting new dimension to the Kirstenbosch Garden experience making Kirstenbosch for Creatives. “Seeing the Invisible” is a contemporary art exhibition with a difference. Thirteen unique art installations are displayed simultaneously at twelve botanical gardens around the world, using AR technology.
Cape Town’s favourite outdoor cinema welcomes movie goers back to The Galileo Open Air Cinema for a 10th season this summer. Thursdays and Sundays are reserved for the much-loved picnic movies in Kirstenbosch Garden.
On the 11th November 2011 Table Mountain was named by more than 500 million voters globally as the latest of the “New7Wonders” of nature. The award has played a key role in drawing scores of local and international tourists to Table Mountain, enabling the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company to grow in its ability to provide visitors with a world-class cableway experience.
The V&A Waterfront clinched the global award at the highly contested World Responsible Tourism awards held in London on Monday, 1 November 2021. The Waterfront is one of a handful of winners of the overall Global Award (award levels go from One to Watch, Silver, Gold then Global).
