SUMMER is finally here and Cape Town is the place to be. Here are the Top Events an Updates at the Cape Town Big 6 this November: Table Mountain Cableway, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, Robben Island, V&A Waterfront, Cape Point, and Groot Constantia.
CAPE POINT
Cape Point is celebrating the 100 YEARS of its second oldest lighthouse. Bake a lighthouse inspired cake, send a pic and you could win a mixer worth R10 000. Enter the competition here.
SANParks has updated its pricing for Cape Point entry as of the 1 November 2019. These rates will be valid from 1 November 2019 – 31 October 2020. The funicular pricing has changed too! An adult one-way ticket is now R70 while the return funicular return adult ticket costs R85. View all detailed pricing here.

The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy goes down to the wire at the Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town on 9 & 10 November. 7 – 17 November
The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. No sailing experience necessary, taken on by everyday people, it’s a record breaking 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on 70-foot ocean racing yachts. It is stopping in Cape Town as part of the 2019-20 global race route.
Come and see the fleet of eleven yachts berthed at the V&A Waterfront between 7-17 November 2019. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the intrepid crew and step on board for a guided tour between 13-15 November at Quay 6. Read more here.

Paddle 4 Presents is an annual charity event where The Little Optimist collects Christmas presents for kids in hospital. Moët & Chandon Golden Tree Lighting Ceremony marks the countdown to the end of the year, it’s worth looking at one of the festive season’s most celebrated markers: the Christmas tree. And few are more awe-inspiring than Cape Town’s grand Moët & Chandon Golden Christmas Tree, created entirely from recycled champagne bottles. Once the sun sets, visitors can look forward to an impressive lighting display, with the 230 metres of LED lights individually programmed to illuminate in sync with themed festive music that most attendees will most definitely recognise!

Zeitz MOCCAA presents – William Kentridge exhibition: Why Should I Hesitate: Putting Drawings to Work. This major exhibition will stage a large oeuvre of Kentridge’s 40-year career, showing works including charcoal drawings, woodcut prints, stop-frame animation, tapestries, installation and video. The exhibition spans five independent spaces throughout Zeitz MOCAA – Level 3, Level 1, Centre for the Moving Image, BMW Atrium, and a night-time projection in the Track Shed – and will include new and never-before-seen works.
